Since graduating from West Virginia University College of Law in 2005, Chad Mooney engages in a broad litigation practice. His areas of practice include commercial and civil litigation, insurance defense, accident and personal injury, creditor’s rights and collection, and criminal defense. He has represented clients in many trial courts across Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia, as well as the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western District and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

As part of his practice, he represents individuals and local and regional businesses. He assists clients with assessment, management, and, if necessary, litigation of issues, personal injury claims and commercial disputes. Chad frequently advises individual and business clients of their rights prior to and in an effort to prevent a lawsuit, which minimizes the economic impact and risks of trial. Although he employs strategies to resolve disputes peacefully, not all disputes can be resolved without court intervention. In those instances, Chad vigorously advocates for his clients.

Among his community and professional activities, Chad has been a member of Lynchburg Bar Association since 2007. He also has been extensively involved with the Lynchburg Morning Rotary Club, serving as President for the 2014-2015 term. Chad previously served on the Pro Bono Task Force for the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society from 2010 to 2014. He continues to serve as a panel attorney, handling pro bono divorces. As a board member and Treasurer for the Amherst County Chamber of Commerce, Chad helps promote business and economic development in Amherst County, Virginia.
