Jim Richards practices primarily in the areas of business formation and transition, tax planning, and estate planning and administration. Jim has practiced law for over 30 years and brings to bear on each matter his wide range of past experience with litigation, real estate, and lease and contract negotiation to help him be a helpful resource to clients.
Past experience includes representing AREVA with regard to the formation of a joint venture with Northrup-Grumman to design and build nuclear reactor containers, the formation of numerous ESOP plans for client companies, and purchases and sales of client companies to create value for their owners.
Jim is active in the community. He is the current chairman of the board of the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the board of Lynchburg Sheltered Industries, is currently a board member of the Lynchburg Community Trust, and is a lifetime member of the board of Spring Hill Cemetery Association.
