Kaitlyn Martin joined Petty, Livingston, Dawson & Richards in 2016. Her practice focuses on estate planning and administration, taxation, and corporate formation & transition.
Kaitlyn, a native of the Lynchburg area, earned her J.D. from Liberty University School of Law in 2016. While in law school, Kaitlyn served as Editor-in-Chief of the Liberty University Law Review, where she managed the publication of the tenth volume of the law review. She authored articles focused on taxation, business, and administrative law issues for publication in both the Liberty University Law Review and the Liberty Legal Journal. Also during law school, Kaitlyn was IRS-certified to prepare free income tax returns for low income individuals and families in the Lynchburg community as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.
Kaitlyn graduated from law school in the top ten percent of her class and earned concentration certificates in Planning and Business Law. She received the Roger C. Bern Planning Award for outstanding achievement in estate & business planning, legal drafting, and problem solving, among other skills important to the practice of law. Kaitlyn was also one of only a handful of students to receive a Certificate of Excellence in Lawyering Skills, recognizing her exceptional achievements in both the litigation and planning tracks of the practical skills program.
In addition to participating in the Lynchburg Bar Association and the Lynchburg Estate Planning Council, Kaitlyn volunteers for the Lynchburg Humane Society and is an active member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.
