The role.

Maya supports PLDR's construction law practice. Her work centers on contract reviews for construction projects and on mechanics liens and collections for liens — work that helps corporations, construction companies, and supplier companies recover what they're owed on projects left unpaid.

Her approach is communicative and responsive — from setting up appointments to sending copies of file documents and updates on active cases. Her responsibilities include client communication, drafting documents for attorney review, and helping keep matters moving efficiently by handling important administrative and case management tasks — filling in gaps where attorneys may not have time to complete certain steps, setting reminders, tracking deadlines, and proactively moving cases forward so nothing falls through the cracks.

Before joining PLDR Law, Maya worked at a law firm in California — initially as an intern that turned into a full role. Her work there focused primarily on elder abuse cases with some environmental law mixed in.

She earned her Bachelor's in Psychology from Liberty University (2024).

Born in Pennsylvania — where her family is from — Maya has also lived in Wyoming, Florida, Ecuador, California, and Virginia. She is bilingual — fluent in Spanish. Outside the firm, she enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and running.
